MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF FLASOG

Dear colleagues of the Latin American Gyneco-Obstetrics.
Another year full of difficulties and uncertainty is coming to an end. Numerous have been and are the difficulties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which despite all the efforts made and progress made, especially with the appearance of vaccines, still has the entire world on edge.
All social classes have suffered its impact, especially those who are most vulnerable, those who have been dragged into poverty and indigence rates, rarely seen.
Maternal and perinatal mortality rates have increased in many countries in the region and violence against women continues to increase, with worrying numbers of femicides.
All our Medical Institutions have had to reinvent themselves to continue operating, trying in the case of FLASOG, to focus on strengthening ties with the Federated Societies in search of greater participation in the activities and projects of our Federation.
This Executive Committee, which I have the honor to chair, wants to express its special gratitude to the National Societies that have supported the calls emanating from FLASOG, demonstrating a sense of belonging and corporate spirit, which encourages us to continue working in a shared effort. .
We are aware that the flame of hope is still burning and that despite all the vicissitudes the future will find us united, redoubling our efforts and consolidating projects.
To all those who support our management on a daily basis, our appreciation and best wishes for peace, harmony, health and love for the upcoming holidays.
May we all find in our families the refuge and the antidote to strengthen ourselves in the face of difficulties and may God fill our homes with happiness.
